The term system on a chip or system on chip (SoC or SOC) is used to describe an integrated circuit (IC) that combines all components of a computer or other electronic systems into a single chip. This, all in one, digital system is similar to a microcontroller with the exception that most or all of the I/O control peripherals, memory and clock controllers are all housed on a single IC. Our single core SoC solutions can be tailored to incorporate any microprocessor in our product line up. Our SoCs offer distinct performance advantages over the typical 8 bit or 16 bit microcontroller; considering the fact that our microprocessors are all 32bit, 5 stage pipeline architectures.
