The Universal Asynchronous Receiver Transmitter (UART) module is one of the serial I/O modules available in our portfolio.  The UART is a full-duplex, asynchronous communication channel that communicates with peripheral devices and personal computers through protocols such as RS-232, RS-485.   Depending on the device configuration, the UART module supports one or two stop bits, parity detection, and inversion of the RX and TX signals, 32 or 8bit data bus width.
